Alex Fricker is a local oboist in the North Atlanta/Roswell area. He currently performs with the Georgia Philharmonic and Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra on English Horn and Oboe, and is the principal oboist for the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra. He received his Bachelor of Music from the University of South Carolina where he studied under Rebecca Nagel (South Carolina Philharmonic) and Patrea Warneck (South Carolina Philharmonic/Greenville Symphony).

Alex also studied under Mark Ostoich at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for two years while posting his master’s degree. Other instructors include Caroline Hove (LA Philharmonic), Sue Tomkiewicz (Columbus State University), Jennifer Potochnic, Jeffrey Rathbun, and several others.

Alex particularly enjoys playing chamber music, English horn, and making reeds. When not performing with groups in Atlanta he spends his time with his niece, his dog Bella, and software engineering work.
