Congcong Bi

Congcong Bi is a cellist born in Shandong, China. She began her musical education at the age of 13 when she was admitted to the Xinghai Conservatory in Guangzhou, China. Four years later, at the age of 17, she was granted the highest scholarship and enrolled at the ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands.

Ms. Bi’s musical achievements include being chosen to represent Mississippi State in the division-level of the MTNA competition in 2020. Additionally, while pursuing her master’s degree, she won the Lee University concerto competition in 2018. She remains active both as a performer and in the academic field.
 
In 2019, Ms. Bi’s research proposal titled “Mechanisms of Live Performance Engagement to Improve Health Outcomes of Advanced Cancer Patients” was selected for the Susan A. Siltanen Graduate Student Research Symposium. Her dedication to academia has also resulted in a publication in the International Journal of Computer Mathematics.
 
Ms. Bi is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Cello Performance and Pedagogy at The University of Southern Mississippi. She holds a master’s degree from Lee University (TN) and a bachelor’s degree from the ArtEZ Conservatory (Zwolle, Netherlands). Ms. Bi is currently teaching at Gwinnett Technical College, where she shares her expertise and passion for music with her students.
