Zachariah Schmidt


Zachariah Schmidt is a student of Dr. Raffi Besalyan at Georgia State University. He has attended the University of Denver in Colorado, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and has attended Georgia State for the past four years. He will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in piano performance of May 2018 and will continue to study with Dr. Besalyan in the fall as part of the graduate program.

Mr. Schmidt has previously studied under Paul Hamilton in Chicago and Heidi Leathwood in Denver. He has given solo recitals in Chicago, Omaha, and Atlanta. Mr. Schmidt’s repertoire ranges from Bach to Mozart to Chopin to Rachmaninoff. He was a finalist in the Georgia State University Brumby Concerto Competition in April of 2017, playing Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto. Most recently, he attended a two week-long music festival in July 2017 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
