Dr. Amy Chen began her piano training at the age of four and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with an emphasis on piano from Capital Normal University. After moving to the United States, she completed her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, Chamber Music, and Accompanying at Ball State University.
An active chamber musician, Dr. Chen has performed in various venues across China and the United States. She has collaborated with diverse ensembles, accompanied solo instrumentalists and vocalists across all voice ranges, and served as an orchestral pianist. Her experience also includes accompanying choirs, dancers, and theatrical productions.
With a strong background in music education and piano pedagogy, Dr. Chen is well-versed in various teaching methodologies and instructional materials. She is dedicated to tailoring her approach to each student’s unique needs, fostering an environment where students of all levels—from young beginners to college music majors—can develop their skills and enjoy making music.
Dr. Chen’s teaching experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Chengdu University’s School of Music and Dance (Sichuan, China), an Adjunct Piano Professor at Huntington University (Indiana, USA), and a Graduate Assistant at Ball State University.
