Thanks to all the students and faculty who had participated the December 27, 2016 All-State Orchestra Sight-Reading Workshop. The workshop was a huge success. 2017 All-State orchestra (2nd round) audition will take on January 14, 2017. William Pu Music Academy is always looking for ways to help our students to excel during All-State orchestra audition. This year, we invited Mr. Young Kim along with WPMA faculty to conduct a half-day workshop to focus on the sight-reading. Mr. Kim has more than 20 years of experiences with All-State orchestra audition events and has been teaching sight-reading class at the William Pu Music Academy. His unique approaches toward the subject have helped many students overcome their fear of sight-reading. Mr. Pu and the WPMA faculty also conducted group lessons at the workshop to fine-tune the excerpts that students need to play at the All-State orchestra audition.
