Jonathan Swygert has performed, recorded, and toured with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He can be heard on the Grammy award-winning recording of the Berlioz Requiem from 2003 (Telarc Cd-80627). Jonathan is currently Associate Principal Trumpet of the Savannah Philharmonic, Second Trumpet of the Augusta Symphony, and substitute with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Jacksonville Symphony. He is also trumpet at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA.
Mr. Swygert has performed with artists that include John Williams, Robert Shaw, Robert Spano, Michael Kamen, Yoel Levi, Pinchas Zuckerman, LeAnn Rimes, Ben Folds, Richard Marx, Shirley Jones, Sutton Foster, Edwin McCain, Vanessa Williams, and the Little River Band.
Mr. Swygert also has extensive private teaching experience and has instructed masterclasses at high schools and middle schools throughout the state of Georgia since 2000. He has produced many students who have made GMEA All State and have gone on to pursue degrees in music. He has been on faculty at Mercer since 2006.
