Dr. Karen Lin is currently a member of North Fulton Music Teachers Association and a registered Suzuki teacher with the Suzuki Association of Americas. Dr. Lin is also a retaining judge for the Federation Festival of the National Federation of Music Clubs.

Dr. Lin attained her doctorate in music performance at the University of Minnesota. She has frequently been invited to perform in professional orchestras and local concerts. Her performance of Erwin Schulhoff’s Duo for Violin and Cello was featured in World Journal. The Minnesota Daily also covered and published her solo recital on Schuller’s Duologue. Recent solo performances include recitals in 2019 and 2017, participation in the premiere recital for the 50 States Project “Amerigo” in 2016, and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in 2015.

Dr. Lin performs not only as a soloist but also as a chamber music and orchestral violinist. Her chamber performances include concerts in Minnesota’s Orchestra Hall, concerts with the Chamber Music Society of Minnesota, and touring with New Music Ensemble to Wisconsin and Iowa. Highlights of her orchestral performances include serving as concertmaster of the National Music Festival in 2012 and the Mississippi Valley Orchestra’s Christmas performance of The Nutcracker in 2008.

Dr. Lin has been a devoted educator for many years. She is the former director of the Conservatory of Music and the orchestra director at the Yinghua Academy before moving to Georgia in 2017. She has successfully coached many students into becoming concertmasters in numerous orchestras, active performers in summer music festivals, and accepted by audition-required orchestras.
